Diablo 4 Has Gone Gold

Diablo 4

Blizzard has announced that Diablo 4 has officially gone gold, meaning it’s on track for its June release.

A videogame industry term frequently thrown about but often misunderstood, Diablo 4 going gold means that development on the launch build of the game is finished. Going gold some six weeks before launch doesn’t mean that Diablo 4 is going to release any sooner, however; time will likely now be spent finding and quashing as many troublesome bugs as possible, and polishing up the game to make it as good as it can be at launch.

“Going gold is a landmark milestone for the incredible Diablo IV team, who have all worked so hard crafting the next-generation installment of this iconic franchise” states Rod Fergusson, Diablo General Manager. “Whether players are veterans of the franchise or jumping in for the first time, we can’t wait for everyone to experience the full game: taking part in the incredible storytelling, experimenting with character classes and builds, and exploring what the endgame and the dark world of Sanctuary has to offer.”

While Diablo 4 officially launches on 6th June, players can get up to four days early access by purchasing the Deluxe or Ultimate editions of the game. And so, if you’re keen to jump into the eagerly awaited fourth entry in this hellish action-RPG franchise early, maybe consider preordering it. The unlock times can be found here.

Having discovered the dark world of Diablo as a youngster, Richard has since lost thousands of hours slaying demons and picking up sweet loot. He wouldn't have it any other way though.
