With the imminent release of Diablo 4, fresh new seasons for Diablo 3 will soon be coming to an end.
In a group interview with Joe Shely and Rod Fergusson, Wowhead reports that a question was raised as to whether Diablo 3 would continue to get new season themes. The answer was that while Season 29 will have a new seasonal theme, from Season 30 onwards content and features would be repeated.
It’s perhaps to be expected – Diablo 3 has had phenomenal support over the years. Anyone that has played the game from launch can attest that it’s much, much improved. And while some will still be playing it for years to come, there’s plenty of seasonal content to be recycled. It also gives those who have started playing between seasons to catch up with rewards and experience some of the themes they’ve missed.
It’s important to note, however, that it is stated that Diablo 3 Season 29 won’t be as rich as the generous Season 28, which added the Altar of Rites and a new Primordial Ashes feature. Still, we’re eager to see what Season 29 has in store, though more excited about diving into Diablo 4, which will be on the receiving end of the resources freed up.
