Diablo 4 Won’t Have These Fan Favourite Features at Launch

Diablo 4

We’re now just two months away from the launch of Diablo 4, and every day we’re learning more about the much-anticipated title. For some though, there are going to be some disappointing omissions at launch.

Replying to fans on Twitter, Rod Fergusson, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Diablo franchise at Blizzard, has confirmed that two fan-favourite features won’t be in Diablo 4. Or at least not at launch, anyway.

The first is the Armory, which was introduced in Diablo 3 many years after launch. It allows players to put together multiple loadouts, enabling them to quickly and easily change their playstyles or alter their equipment for other reasons. Some players used it to easily switch between gear loadouts focussed on DPS or magic find, for example. It’s perhaps understandable that it won’t be in Diablo 4 at launch, what with changes to the skill system, but hopefully it can be added in some form at a later date.

Another thing missing from Diablo 4 at launch is the Horadric Bestiary, as featured in Diablo Immortal. Containing information about the monsters you face on your adventures throughout Sanctuary, some loved the additional lore that it introduced to the franchise, and it also offered another way to power up your characters and gain rewards. While it won’t be in the game at launch, however, there’s a chance it could arrive in the future.

Are you a fan of these features? Will you miss them at launch? Let us know in the comments below.

Having discovered the dark world of Diablo as a youngster, Richard has since lost thousands of hours slaying demons and picking up sweet loot. He wouldn't have it any other way though.
